GE Fanuc IC200KIT001 VersaMax Conversion Kit
The GE Fanuc IC200KIT001 is a VersaMax conversion kit. It upgrades Series 90 Micro devices to VersaMax Micro units. The kit includes VersaPro software, a programming cable, and CAD files.
The IC200MDD840 is a 32-point combination discrete I/O module. It belongs to the VersaMax I/O series. GE Intelligent Platforms originally produced this unit, and Emerson Automation now supports it. The module combines twenty 24 VDC positive-logic inputs with twelve Form A relay contact outputs. Each relay output carries a 2.0 Ampere rating.
Furthermore, this module serves as a component unit within the VersaMax product family. It embeds both discrete input and output circuits on a single device. Therefore, it saves rack space and simplifies system design.
The IC200MDD840 provides 32 I/O channels in total. Twenty channels handle discrete inputs, while twelve channels drive relay outputs. Input signals are nominal 24 VDC with a range of 0-30 VDC. On-state current runs from 2.0 to 5.5 mA. Off-state current stays at 0-0.5 mA. Input impedance reaches 10k Ohms maximum.
Additionally, the input channels are arranged in two groups of ten. Typical on and off signal transition delay is 0.5 ms maximum. Configurable filter times include 0 ms, 1.0 ms, and 0.7 ms, with 1.0 ms as the default. The relay outputs are arranged in two groups of six channels each. Contact output ratings include 10 mA per point minimum, 2.0 A for 5 to 265 VAC maximum resistive, 2.0 A for 5 to 30 VDC maximum resistive, and 0.2 A for 31 to 125 VDC maximum resistive. Maximum current per module is 8.0 A. The relay type uses a fixed coil, moving armature with silver alloy contacts. Maximum backplane current consumption is 375 mA.
The IC200MDD840 measures 110 mm x 66.8 mm x 50 mm. These dimensions exclude the carrier height and mating connections. Individual channel LED indicators show I/O status. An OK LED shows module health. Two groups of six outputs each provide channel isolation. However, this module does not include internal fuses. It also does not support channel-to-channel isolation.
Meanwhile, the module draws power directly from the rack-mounted backplane. Output loads need an external power source. Output voltage ranges from 0-125 VDC and 0-265 VAC at 47-63 Hz. Nominal values include 5/24/125 VDC and 120/240 VAC. The module processes data through the network interface unit and the PLC central processing unit.
First, mount the IC200MDD840 onto a VersaMax rack. Next, connect the input devices to the twenty sourcing input points. Then, wire the relay outputs to the external loads. After that, attach the external power supply for output circuits. Finally, configure the input filter times through your PLC software.
Besides, keep the backplane current draw below 375 mA. Check that output loads stay within the contact ratings. Since the module lacks internal fuses, add external protection where needed. Verify all wiring before applying power. Confirm the OK LED and channel LEDs show correct status. For noisy inputs, select a longer filter time to remove false signals.

Q1: How many I/O points does the IC200MDD840 offer?
A1: The IC200MDD840 provides 32 points in total. It includes 20 discrete inputs and 12 relay outputs.
Q2: What is the input voltage range of this module?
A2: Input signals range from 0-30 VDC, with 24 VDC as the nominal value.
Q3: What are the relay output contact ratings?
A3: Contacts handle 2.0 A for 5-265 VAC and 2.0 A for 5-30 VDC resistive loads. They also handle 0.2 A for 31-125 VDC resistive loads.
Q4: Does the IC200MDD840 need an external power supply?
A4: Yes. The module draws backplane power, but output loads require an external supply rated 0-125 VDC or 0-265 VAC.
Q5: Does this module include internal fuses?
A5: No. The module lacks internal fuses and does not support channel-to-channel isolation. Add external protection as needed.
