Keyence IV-2000MA Long Range Vision Sensor
The Keyence IV-2000MA is a long-range monochrome vision sensor with auto focus. It covers 300 to 2,000 mm distances and supports EtherNet/IP plus PROFINET protocols.
The IV-2000M belongs to the Keyence IV Series of integrated vision sensors. This long-range monochrome model handles inspection tasks across 300 to 2,000 mm working distances. Its manual focus system gives operators direct control over image clarity. Furthermore, the built-in infrared LED illumination supports both pulse and DC lighting modes.
The Keyence IV-2000M uses a 1/3 inch monochrome CMOS image sensor. It captures images at 752 (H) x 480 (V) pixels. The field of view changes with the installed distance. Specifically, at 300 mm the view measures 45 x 33 mm, while at 2,000 mm it expands to 300 x 225 mm.
This sensor provides 16 detection tools and one position adjustment tool. Besides shape detection, it supports color area and area tools. Users can store up to 32 programs through switch settings.
For network connectivity, the IV-2000M includes an M12 4-pin connector. It supports 100BASE-TX and 10BASE-T Ethernet. Moreover, the device works with FTP client, EtherNet/IP, and PROFINET protocols. Communication expansion is not available on this model.
The unit runs on 24 VDC +/-10% supply voltage. Power consumption stays at 0.6 A or less. Outputs use open collector type with NPN/PNP switching. N.O./N.C. modes are also selectable, with a maximum rating of 26.4 V and 50 mA. In addition, six inputs (IN1 to IN6) and four outputs (OUT1 to OUT4) are provided.
The main unit case uses aluminium die-casting material. The packing is NBR, the front cover is acrylic, and the mounting adapter is POM. The sensor weighs approximately 270 g.
Operating temperature ranges from 0 to +50°C without freezing. Relative humidity should stay between 35 and 85% RH without condensation. The protection rating reaches IP67, except when a polarized filter attachment is mounted. Vibration resistance covers 10 to 55 Hz at 1.5 mm double amplitude. Shock resistance handles 500 m/s^2 three times in six directions.
First, mount the sensor using the POM adapter at the desired distance. Next, connect the M12 4-pin connector to your network cable. Then, adjust the manual focus until the target image appears sharp.
For lighting, choose pulse or DC mode based on your application speed. After that, configure up to 32 programs through the switch settings. Finally, verify input and output wiring before powering the 24 VDC supply.

1x Quick Start Guide
Q1: What is the working distance of the IV-2000M?
A: The installed distance ranges from 300 to 2,000 mm. The view size changes accordingly from 45 x 33 mm to 300 x 225 mm.
Q2: Does the Keyence IV-2000M support color inspection?
A: No, this model is monochrome. It handles shape detection, color area, and area tools using grayscale imaging.
Q3: How does manual focus differ from auto focus models?
A: Manual focus lets operators fine-tune image clarity by hand. This suits stable setups where the target distance rarely changes.
Q4: How many programs can the IV-2000M store?
A: The sensor stores up to 32 programs via switch settings. It also includes 16 detection tools and one position adjustment tool.
Q5: What is the protection rating of the IV-2000M?
A: The rating is IP67. However, this rating does not apply when a polarized filter attachment is mounted.
