Product Introduction
The Bently Nevada 330101-00-13-10-02-00 is a compact member of the 3300 XL series. This 8 mm probe uses a 3/8-24 UNF thread and comes without armor, making it ideal for installations with limited space. Its overall case length is just 1.3 inches, which suits shallow mounting holes or tight machine casings.
Manufactured in the U.S.A., this probe is engineered for radial vibration and thrust position monitoring. The PPS probe tip provides thick coil encapsulation, while the stainless steel case adds mechanical strength. Furthermore, the 1.0-meter cable length minimizes signal loss and simplifies routing. For these reasons, this model works well in smaller turbines, fans, and pumps.
Compact Mechanical Design
Case and Unthreaded Length
This version has a 0.0-inch unthreaded length (option 00) and a 1.3-inch overall case length (option 13). The short case makes it suitable for applications where casing thickness is minimal or where probe clearance is restricted.
Total Cable Length
The total length option is 10, which corresponds to 1.0 meter (3.3 feet). This short cable reduces the risk of signal degradation and makes installation quicker in confined areas. It is specifically designed for use with 1-meter or 5-meter Proximitor sensor systems.
Technical Specifications
Linear Range and Scale Factor
This probe offers a linear range of 2 mm (80 mils), beginning at approximately 0.25 mm to 2.3 mm (10 to 90 mils). The incremental scale factor (ISF) is 7.87 V/mm (200 mV/mil) ± 5% for standard 1-meter or 5-meter systems. Additionally, the deviation from best fit straight line (DSL) stays below ±0.025 mm (±1 mil) across the 0°C to +45°C temperature range.
Electrical Characteristics
The nominal DC resistance (RPROBE) from center to outer conductor is 7.59 ± 0.50 Ω for this 1.0-meter probe. Meanwhile, the extension cable capacitance measures 69.9 pF/m (21.3 pF/ft) typically. For field wiring, we recommend 0.2 to 1.5 mm² (16 to 24 AWG) 3-conductor shielded triad cable. The maximum field wiring length between the Proximitor sensor and the monitor is 305 meters (1,000 feet).
Environmental Performance
The probe tip uses polyphenylene sulfide (PPS), and the case is machined from AISI 303 or 304 stainless steel. Standard operating temperature ranges from -52°C to +177°C. For higher-temperature applications, an extended range version is available (tip up to +218°C). Nevertheless, temperatures below –34°C may reduce the pressure seal's service life.
Humidity and Pressure Sealing
A Viton® O-ring seals the differential pressure between the tip and the case. Moreover, the probe exhibits less than 3% change in average scale factor after 56 days at 93% relative humidity, per IEC 68-2-3 standards. This ensures stable readings in humid conditions.
Installation and Torque Guidelines
Gap Setting
For radial vibration measurements, set the gap to -9 Vdc, which corresponds to roughly 1.27 mm (50 mils). First, clean the mounting hole and threads. Next, hand-thread the probe until it seats. Finally, tighten it to the recommended torque using a calibrated wrench.
Torque Values
For standard forward-mounted probes, the maximum rated torque is 33.9 N•m (300 in•lbf), while the recommended torque is 11.2 N•m (100 in•lbf). For the first three threads only, the maximum drops to 22.6 N•m (200 in•lbf) with a recommended setting of 7.5 N•m (66 in•lbf). Exceeding these limits may strip the threads or deform the case.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
1. Why does this model have no agency approvals (00 option)?
The 00 option means the probe does not carry CSA, ATEX, or IECEx certifications. It is intended for non-hazardous, general-purpose industrial environments where such approvals are not required.
2. Can I use this probe in a high-vibration environment?
Yes, the 3300 XL series is built to withstand significant vibration. The CableLoc design provides 330 N (75 lbf) pull strength, and the PPS tip offers excellent shock resistance.
3. What is the maximum thread engagement for this probe?
The maximum thread engagement length is 0.563 inches for the 3/8-24 UNF thread. Exceeding this depth may cause mechanical interference or damage.
4. Is this probe compatible with the FluidLoc cable option?
Yes, you can order this probe with the FluidLoc cable option to prevent oil or liquid leakage through the cable interior. Please specify this when placing your order.
5. How do I clean the probe tip before installation?
Wipe the tip gently with a lint-free cloth moistened with isopropyl alcohol. Avoid abrasive materials that could scratch the PPS surface, as this may affect measurement accuracy.
