Bently Nevada 330106-05-30-10-12-05 Probe
This Bently Nevada 330106-05-30-10-12-05 is a 3300 XL reverse mount proximity probe with a 1.0-meter FluidLoc cable. It uses an M10x1 thread and a miniature ClickLoc connector for shaft vibration monitoring.
The 330101-00-30-05-02-00 is a standard forward mount probe from the Bently Nevada 3300 XL 8 mm family. This sensor measures shaft vibration and axial position without contacting the target. Its 3/8-24 UNF thread fits common probe sleeves, and the 0.5-meter cable suits short runs inside the machine housing. The probe uses a miniature coaxial ClickLoc connector for direct linkage to 3300 XL extension cables. Because it ships without armor and without agency approval, this variant suits general-purpose monitoring cabinets and lab setups.
The 330101-00-30-05-02-00 works as a passive eddy-current sensor. It needs a compatible 3300 XL Proximitor to deliver the standard system output of 7.87 V/mm (200 mV/mil).
Specifically, the nominal DC resistance from center conductor to outer conductor is 7.45 Ω ± 0.50 Ω at the 0.5-meter length. The probe tip is molded from polyphenylene sulfide (PPS), and the case is AISI 303 or 304 stainless steel. Extension cable capacitance runs about 69.9 pF/m (21.3 pF/ft) typical. Field wiring accepts 0.2 to 1.5 mm² (16 to 24 AWG) shielded triad cable, with a maximum run of 305 meters (1,000 feet) between Proximitor and monitor.
The linear range covers 2 mm (80 mils), starting about 0.25 mm (10 mils) from the target and running to 2.3 mm (90 mils), roughly -1 to -17 Vdc. For radial vibration, the recommended gap setting is -9 Vdc, about 1.27 mm (50 mils). Incremental Scale Factor is 7.87 V/mm (200 mV/mil) ± 5% for the standard 0.5 or 1 meter system.
The patented TipLoc molding method bonds the probe tip to the body more securely. In addition, the CableLoc design gives the cable-to-tip joint a pull strength of 330 N (75 lbf). The 8 mm body carries a thicker PPS encapsulation around the coil, which makes the probe more rugged against physical abuse. Bently Nevada recommends 8 mm probes wherever robustness matters.
The 3/8-24 thread allows a maximum engagement of 0.563 inches. For standard forward mount probes, the maximum case torque is 33.9 N·m (300 in·lbf), and the recommended torque is 11.2 N·m (100 in·lbf). The standard operating and storage range is -52°C to +177°C (-62°F to +350°F). Avoid temperatures below -34°C (-30°F), since cold shock may fail the Viton O-ring pressure seal.
First, confirm the target material and set the gap voltage with a compatible 3300 XL Proximitor. Next, thread the probe into the mounting sleeve by hand until it seats, then apply the recommended 11.2 N·m (100 in·lbf) torque on the case. After that, connect the ClickLoc plug to the extension cable and tighten the coupling by hand. Finally, route field wiring away from drives and high-voltage lines, and keep total runs under 305 meters to limit high-frequency rolloff.

Q1: What does the "05" total length option mean on this probe?
A: It sets a 0.5-meter (1.6-foot) cable. Short lengths like this reduce cable clutter inside compact machine housings.
Q2: Does this probe include agency approvals?
A: No. The "00" suffix means no agency approval is required. For hazardous areas, choose a variant with the "05" CSA, ATEX, and IECEx option instead.
Q3: Why does Bently Nevada recommend 8 mm probes over smaller sizes?
A: The 8 mm design adds thicker PPS encapsulation around the coil and a stronger case. This gives better protection against physical abuse during installation and service.
Q4: What gap voltage should I set for radial vibration?
A: Set about -9 Vdc, which corresponds to roughly 1.27 mm (50 mils). This falls inside the 2 mm (80 mil) linear range.
Q5: Is this probe supplied with armor?
A: No. The 330101-00-30-05-02-00 is the unarmored version. Armor is an optional add-on for installations that need extra cable protection.
