Monitor Technical Specifications
Power and Channel Types
The 2300/20 monitor accepts 18–36 Vdc input with a maximum power draw of 7.5 W. It supports ICP accelerometers, velocity sensors, and radial vibration channels. Bandpass filters are configurable from 0.2 Hz to 20 kHz. Scale factor ranges from 5 to 1000 mV/g for accelerometers. Full scale reaches 2 to 80 g peak. Velocity channels scale from 5 to 1000 mV/in/s with a 0 to 50 in/s peak range.
Thrust and Process Variable Channels
Thrust channels also use a 5 to 1000 mV/mil scale factor. The process variable channel supports most units by default. Temperature channels are fully configurable. Upper and lower OK limits range from -0.25 to -22 V. Accuracy holds at ±1% of full scale across all input types.
High-Precision ADCs
Independent 24-bit ADCs on each input channel deliver exceptional measurement precision. This design eliminates cross-channel interference. As a result, you get reliable data for critical machinery protection.
Speed and Proximity Interfaces
Keyphasor and Proximity Inputs
Keyphasor transducers support multiple events per revolution. Speed inputs operate up to 20 kHz. Threshold voltage resolution is 0.1 Vdc. The proximity transducer interface supplies -22.8 to –25.2 Vdc. Maximum rated current reaches 15 mA. RPM range spans 1 to 120,000.
Proximity Switch and Magnetic Pickup
The proximity switch interface provides -10 to -24 Vdc supply voltage. Lower not-ok limit is -2.75 ±0.05 V. RPM range for this interface goes from 1 to 60,000. Magnetic pickup inputs adapt to sensor 284947 output. RPM range there reaches 200 to 120,000.
Contact Inputs and Controls
Three contact inputs are available on the 2300/20 monitor. These support configuration lock, latched alarm/reset functions, and monitor bypass. Activation requires 0 to 10 kΩ. De-activation occurs with 150 kΩ to infinite resistance. An external button resets latched alarms and relays. A buried button provides three functions: display monitor information, LCD contrast adjustment, and resetting settings to default. Reset options include user account name, IP address, and firmware/hardware version.
Outputs and 4-20mA
Buffered and 4-20mA Outputs
Three buffered outputs connect via BNC connectors. These include two vibration outputs and one speed output. Additionally, the 2300/20 provides two 4-20 mA outputs with an internal current loop power supply. These outputs are proportional to the full-scale measurement range. Load resistance accepts 0 to 600 Ω. Resolution sits at 0.3662 µA with 1% accuracy over the operating temperature range. Update rate is 100 ms.
Critical Note on 4-20mA
Two 4-20 mA outputs will NOT work with an external powered loop. Software configuration determines the variable for each output. A configurable 2 mA clamp current is set by default.
Relay Specifications
Non-Hazardous Area Ratings
Relays are single pole, double throw type with epoxy sealing. Contact life reaches 100,000 cycles at 5 amps, 250 Vac. It also reaches 200,000 cycles at 1 amp, 24 Vdc. Insulation resistance is 1000 MΩ minimum at 500 Vdc. Closed contact resistance stays at 1 Ω maximum. Open contact resistance is 1 MΩ minimum. Maximum switched voltage is 250 Vac or 250 Vdc. Breaking current reaches 6 A at 250 Vac or 6 A at 24 Vdc. Switched power maxes at 1500 VA AC or 150 Watts DC.
Hazardous Area Ratings
For hazardous locations, maximum switched voltage and current ratings differ. These are 6 A at 24 Vac, 5 A at 30 Vac, 5.8 A at 24 Vdc, or 4 A at 30 Vdc.
LEDs and Display
Multiple LEDs provide clear status indication. The OK LED confirms proper monitor operation. Protection fault indicates hardware issues affecting alarms. User inhibit lights when alarms are intentionally blocked. Bypass shows user-initiated override actions. Relay status confirms relay activation. TX/RX indicates Ethernet communication activity. The SPEED/AUX channel LED verifies valid speed signals. Alert and Danger LEDs engage for any channel in alarm states. An LCD display shows speed, vibration values, setpoints, and configuration information.
Communications and Data Storage
Ethernet supports 10Base-T and 100Base-TX, conforming to IEEE802.3. A standard RJ-45 connector works with cable lengths up to 100 meters. The 2300/20 stores trend measurements and waveforms. Pre-event trend data captures 10 minutes at 1-second intervals or 20 seconds at 100-millisecond intervals. Post-event trend data stores 10 seconds at 100-millisecond intervals or 1 minute at 1-second intervals. For spectrums and waveforms, pre-event data captures 2.5 minutes at 10-second intervals. Post-event data stores 1 minute at 10-second intervals. During network disruptions, this monitor stores at least 5 alarm data captures. This requires System 1 Evolution 21.1 or newer and firmware 3.2 or newer.
Environmental and Physical Specifications
Operating temperature ranges from -30°C to +65°C. Storage temperature spans -40°C to +85°C. Humidity tolerance reaches 95% non-condensing. Vibration limitation is 3 g. The real-time clock battery lasts 38 years when powered at 50°C. Without power, it lasts 12 years at the same temperature. The monitor dimensions are 127 mm x 127 mm x 76.2 mm. Monitor weight is 1.03 kg. Mounting options include panel mount or DIN rail. A DIN rail adapter is included with the monitor.
