Meanwhile, the high-speed counter block supports 2 points of 32-bit auto-reset counting at 100 kHz single-phase or 50 kHz phase-difference input. These functions cover encoder feedback, speed measurement, and simple stepper or servo indexing.
A built-in RS-232C modular port handles KV STUDIO programming and no-protocol serial links to barcode readers or other devices. Furthermore, optional communication modules can be mounted on the backplane when the application needs additional serial channels or network connectivity.
The KV-N24DT operates from 0 to +55°C without freezing and tolerates 5 to 95% RH without condensation. Storage temperature ranges from -25 to +75°C. The unit resists vibration at 5–9 Hz with 3.5 mm amplitude and 9–150 Hz at 9.8 m/s² intermittently, plus shock of 150 m/s² for 11 ms in three axes. In addition, noise immunity meets IEC standards at 1500 Vp-p, and insulation resistance stays at 50 MΩ or higher at 500 VDC. The unit weighs approximately 0.47 kg, and Keyence confirms active production status.
First, secure the KV-N24DT to a DIN rail or a flat panel using the mounting holes. Next, wire the 24 VDC supply to the power terminals and confirm correct polarity and a solid ground connection. After that, connect input devices to the 14 input terminals and load devices to the 10 output terminals, following the sink (NPN) wiring convention. Besides, leave ventilation clearance around the housing and keep signal wires apart from power cables. Finally, plug the RS-232C cable into a PC running KV STUDIO to download and test the program.
