Product Introduction
The TC-PIL081 from Honeywell provides eight configurable temperature input channels. All channels reference a single common ground. This module supports both thermocouple (TC) and RTD sensor types. You can split channels into two groups: 0–3 and 4–7. Each group has its own filter setting.
Temperature formats include Celsius, Fahrenheit, or Kelvin for all channels. The Honeywell TC-PIL081 also carries a CENELEC II (1) 2G EEx ia/ib IIB/IIC T4 rating. This makes it suitable for intrinsically safe installations.

Installation Guidelines
Follow these steps to install the Honeywell TC-PIL081 correctly.
First, verify the keyswitch position is set to 2 on the base. Then mount the module onto the terminal base. Next, configure each channel group for either TC or RTD operation. Select the appropriate filter frequency for your application.
For EMC compliance, always use shielded multicore cable. Each channel requires its own shield with isolation greater than 500V. Additionally, field installations need an IP54 or better enclosure.
Finally, set up alarms for lead breakage, overrange, or underrange as needed. The cold junction alarm helps monitor reference junction health.
