Installation Guidelines
Follow these steps to install the Honeywell TC-PIB161 correctly.
First, confirm the keyswitch position is set to 6 on the terminal base. Then mount the module onto the base. Next, connect NAMUR sensors according to the terminal labeling.
For EMC compliance, use shielded multicore cable. Each channel does not require individual shields, but overall cable shielding is necessary. Additionally, field installations need an IP54 or better enclosure.
Finally, set the DIP switches to enable fault detection for the required channel groups. Configure the digital filter time based on your noise environment.

1. What type of sensors work with the TC-PIB161? The TC-PIB161 accepts NAMUR proximity sensors and mechanical switches according to EN 50227. It supports both 2-wire and 3-wire NAMUR devices.
2. How do I enable fault detection for specific channels? Use the four DIP switches on the bottom of the module. Each switch controls one group of four channels. Set the switch to ON to enable fault detection for that group.

5. Can I use the TC-PIB161 without fault detection enabled? Yes. Simply turn off all four DIP switches. The module will still read digital inputs normally. Lead break and short circuit alarms will not be reported.
