Yokogawa F3NC32-0N 2-Axis Positioning Module
Product Introduction
The F3NC32-0N is a compact positioning module designed for the Yokogawa FA-M3 programmable controller. Specifically, it controls two axes through open-loop position control with position reference pulse output. Engineers select this module for applications that need circular interpolation, pattern operation, and flexible origin search.
Technical Specifications
The F3NC32-0N drives two axes with selectable pulse types per axis. Users choose CW/CCW pulse, travel/direction pulse, or phase A/phase B pulse. Output pulse rates reach 5 Mpps for servomotors and 1 Mpps for stepping motors, which supports fast and accurate positioning.
Counter functions include two channels for incremental encoders with phase A/B signals and absolute encoders. Input pulse rate reaches 5 Mpps after 4x multiplication. Therefore, the module handles high-resolution feedback without signal loss.
Control modes cover position control, speed control, and switchover between the two. Furthermore, interpolation modes include 2-axis linear interpolation and 2-axis circular interpolation, enabling arc paths and contour moves.
The module stores up to 2000 action pattern records (500 actions × 4 patterns) and 2000 position data records per axis. Besides, pattern operation supports PTP movement, CP normal movement, CP pass-by movement, and CP pass-through movement.
Speed reference ranges from 1 to 5,000,000 pps. Additionally, ACC/DCC times are configurable independently from 0 to 32,767 ms, with automatic trapezoidal and automatic S-shape curves.
Position reference accepts absolute or incremental values from -2,147,483,648 to 2,147,483,647 pulses. Meanwhile, users can change the target position or specified speed during movement.
External contact inputs provide 6 inputs per axis, covering origin, forward limit, reverse limit, driver alarm, external trigger, and general-purpose input, plus an emergency stop. External contact outputs provide 3 outputs per axis, including one deviation pulse clear signal and two general-purpose outputs, plus 1 SEN signal per axis.
Mechanical and Environmental Parameters
The F3NC32-0N mounts inside the FA-M3 base unit and receives power from the backplane. Its compact front panel suits dense control cabinets. Moreover, the RS-422A differential line driver resists factory noise. Flash ROM backup keeps parameters and position data safe without a battery.
Installation Guide
First, power down the FA-M3 base unit before inserting the module. Next, seat the F3NC32-0N firmly into an available slot. Then, wire encoder and driver signals through shielded twisted-pair cable.
After wiring, configure axis parameters through the CPU module software. Specifically, set pulse type, electronic gear, speed reference, and ACC/DCC times. Finally, run the automatic origin search and verify motion before production use.
