Keyence LV-N11P Digital Laser Sensor Unit
The LV-N11P is a cable-type main amplifier unit from Keyence's LV-N series. It delivers 80 µs high-speed response, dual PNP outputs, and flexible timer functions for precise laser sensing integration.
The LV-N12P forms part of the Keyence LV-N series, a versatile digital laser sensor family built for precise detection and positioning tasks. Specifically, this model serves as an expansion unit that connects to a main amplifier such as the LV-N11P. Engineers choose the LV-N12P when they need to add sensing channels without duplicating power wiring or controller space. Furthermore, the unit shares the same response modes and timer options as the main amplifier, so mixed installations remain simple to configure and maintain.
The LV-N12P provides one control output and one external input. Output selection switches between LIGHT-ON and DARK-ON modes. Moreover, the timer function offers OFF, OFF-delay, ON-delay, and one-shot settings, with a range of 1 ms to 9,999 ms and maximum error of ±10%. Response time is selectable across six modes: 80 µs (HIGH SPEED), 250 µs (FINE), 500 µs (TURBO), 1 ms (SUPER), 4 ms (ULTRA), and 16 ms (MEGA). Interference prevention supports 0 to 4 units depending on mode and connected sensor head.
The control output uses a PNP open collector rated at 30 V. Residual voltage remains 1.2 V or less up to 10 mA and 2.2 V or less from 10 to 100 mA. Each output handles 100 mA maximum. Protection circuits cover reverse polarity, over-current, and surge absorption. Since this model carries a single output, it counts as one unit toward the expansion limit.
Supply voltage is 24 VDC nominal, with an operating range of 10 to 30 VDC and ripple tolerance of 10% P-P maximum. Power consumption reaches approximately 830 mW maximum at 30 V, or about 30 mA at 24 V. The housing measures 32.6 × 9.8 × 78.7 mm and weighs approximately 65 g. Case material is polycarbonate, and the cable jacket uses PVC. Operating temperature spans -20 to +55 °C without freezing, with derating applied when multiple units sit side by side. Humidity tolerance is 35 to 85% RH without condensation. Vibration resistance follows 10–55 Hz with 1.5 mm double amplitude for 2 hours per axis, and shock resistance is 500 m/s², three times per axis.
First, mount the LV-N12P beside the main amplifier on a DIN rail, then slide the units together until the side connectors engage. Next, confirm that the total expansion count stays at or below 17 units, counting two-output models as two units. The expansion unit draws power through the main amplifier, so no separate supply wiring is needed. After that, set the response mode and timer via the front panel controls. Finally, run a teach or threshold adjustment with the attached sensor head and verify the output behavior before production begins.

Instruction sheet
Q1: What is the difference between the LV-N12P and LV-N11P?
The LV-N12P is an expansion unit with one control output. The LV-N11P is the main unit with two outputs and its own power wiring.
Q2: Does the LV-N12P need a separate power supply?
No. The LV-N12P receives power through the main amplifier via the side connectors, so only the main unit connects to 24 VDC.
Q3: How many units can one system include?
A single system supports up to 17 units total, and a two-output model counts as two units toward that limit.
Q4: What is the fastest response time available?
The LV-N12P reaches 80 µs in HIGH SPEED mode. Certain sensor heads may restrict this setting.
Q5: Which shipping methods do you offer?
We ship worldwide through Fedex, UPS, and DHL, and we provide tracking details after dispatch.
